The DGT Pegasus is the first chess board built specifically for online play. Rather than competing on a screen with a mouse or touchscreen, the Pegasus connects wirelessly via Bluetooth to your phone or tablet, lets you find an opponent on Lichess, Chess.com, or another supported platform, and then lets you play the entire game on a real physical board with real chess pieces. Once the game starts, you put the phone away and concentrate fully on the board in front of you.
Your opponent's moves are shown on the board itself through pulsing LED rings around each square — the from-square shows where the opponent is moving, the to-square shows where the piece is going. You physically move the piece on the board to register the move, and the game continues. No screen. No mouse. Just chess, on a real board, against opponents from around the world.
